Håkan Björklund, Chief Executive Officer
Before joining Nycomed, Håkan was Regional Director at Astra (today AstraZeneca). He was President of Astra Draco from 1991 to 1996.
Håkan is a member of the Board of Directors of Atos Medical AB, Coloplast and Danisco A/S. He holds a PhD in neuroscience research from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. Born in 1956, he is a Swedish citizen.
Runar Bjørklund, Chief Financial Officer
Nycomed CFO since 1997, Runar served earlier as Group Chief Accountant in the Imaging division and as Corporate Controller. He holds an MSc in Business from Lund University, Sweden, and followed his C.P.A. at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. A Norwegian citizen, Runar was born in 1956.
Charles Depasse, Executive Vice President, Human Resources and IS/IT
Nycomed’s Senior Vice President of Operations from 2000 to 2005 and was Integration Manager in 2007. Charles has 16 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including work for Pfizer and Smith & Nephew. He holds an Electromechanical Engineering degree from the University of Brussels and an MBA from New York University. Born in 1958, he is a Belgian citizen.
Barthold Piening, Executive Vice President, Operations
Corporate Vice President of Operations at ALTANA Pharma AG, Barthold has 18 years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain operations. A qualified pharmacist with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Kiel, Barthold has an MBA from WHU Koblenz, Germany, and the Northwestern University in Chicago. He was born in 1958 and is a German citizen.
Dick Söderberg, Executive Vice President, Marketing
Dick has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having held senior positions at AstraZeneca, Pharmacia & Upjohn and Kabi Pharmacia. Dick has a BSc in International Economics and Business Administration from Uppsala University, Sweden. A Swedish citizen, he was born in 1958.
Kerstin Valinder, Executive Vice President, Business Development
Kerstin joined Nycomed in 1999. She has 22 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having held various positions at Astra and AstraZeneca. She has a University Certificate in Journalism from Gothenburg University, Sweden. Born in 1960, Kerstin is a Swedish citizen.
Anders Ullman, Executive Vice President, Research and Development
Anders has 16 years’ experience in medical R&D, most recently at Biovitrum. He is a physician and clinical pharmacologist with a PhD from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Anders was born in 1956 and is a Swedish citizen.
Michael Kuner, Executive Vice President, Legal
48-year-old Michael has more than 17 years’ corporate and transactional experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies.
He joined ALTANA Pharma in 2001 as Senior Legal Advisor for business development, before appointments as Corporate Vice President & General Counsel in 2003 and, following the merger, Senior Vice President Legal with Nycomed in 2006.
