R & D
Together for medicines that matter
Filling the R&D pipeline to create and deliver new therapeutics to patients is a core task for securing future growth. Our R&D teams are dedicated to developing medicines that have a distinct medical utility for patients, physicians or payers.

Our R&D has established a new strategy and operating model that ensures flexibility in working with partners. With this new model, we expect some four-fifths of R&D projects to originate outside the company, before they are in-licensed and co-developed.
From the earliest research stages onward, Nycomed’s R&D is organised to meet specific needs for partnering projects, particularly in its focus areas: respiratory, inflammation/auto-immune, pain, musculosceletal and gastroenterology.
