Pantoprazole

Product description: Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) indicated for symptoms of stomach and intestinal gastric ulcers, heartburn, Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), and other related gastrointestinal diseases.

The prescription product is marketed in more than 90 countries under a variety of brand names, including Pantozol®, Somac®, Controloc®, Pantoloc®, Zurcal® and in the US by our partner Wyeth under the brand name Protonix®. Since it was launched in 1994, Pantoprazole has been used by over 750 million patients.

In 2009, Pantozol Control®, an over-the-counter presentation of Pantoprazole, was launched in the European Union for the treatment of heartburn, following Somac® Heartburn Relief in Australia.

Medical need: Acid-related gastrointestinal disorders are so common in the general population that they are frequently not recognized or taken seriously. Lack of adequate treatment can have consequences for the patient’s overall health and well being.

Not all products or indications are available in all countries. Regulatory requirements in various countries limit the product information that we can provide. Please consult your physician about any medical condition or prescription product.
