2009
On the 22nd of September Nycomed and Yaroslavl region have signed an agreement on collaboration. Nycomed announced building of the first Greenfield plant in Russia, Yaroslavl City.
Jostein Davidsen, Senior Vice President, Nycomed Group, and President Nycomed Russia-CIS, remarked: "We have inspected many possible locations in many different regions, and put Yaroslavl early on the shortlist of the most attractive locations for Nycomed. A key factor for our decision was the long-term availability of a qualified workforce, where the medical academy in Yaroslavl plays an important role. The infrastructure and land plot also very well meets our requirements. We are confident that we made the right choice."
2010
On June 18th 2010 in the frame of the visit of the Russian Government delegation to Yaroslavl region the groundbreaking ceremony of the future Nycomed plant took place. To make the start of the future plant construction Yarolslavl Governor Sergey Vakhrukov, CEO Håkan Björklund and Jostein Davidsen, Senior Vice President, Nycomed Group and General Director, Nycomed Russia/CIS have opened stela that will be the welcome symbol for employees and guests of the future plant.
Within the visit of the Russian Government to Yaroslavl region CEO Håkan Björklund and Jostein Davidsen, Senior Vice President, Nycomed Group and General Director, Nycomed Russia/CIS have presented to Vladimir Putin the project of the future plant and told about company`s plans.
Håkan Björklund, Chief Executive Officer of Nycomed, said: “Russia is of strategic importance for Nycomed. With the investment up to €75 million in our production facility we are expressing our belief in the bright future of Russia and its people. We are delighted to see that development of healthcare became a top priority of the government. Nycomed is fully committed to supporting the goal of improving health in Russia».
2011
On March 22nd 2011 Nycomed organizes roof celebration - ceremony devoted to the end of outer part`s construction of the manufacturing plant in Yaroslavl. Barthold Piening, Executive Vice President Operations of Nycomed, Jostein Davidsen, Senior Vice President, Nycomed Group, President, Nycomed Russia/CIS, Sergey Vakhrukov, Governor of the Yaroslavl region, Victor Volonchunas, Mayor of Yaroslavl city and managers of infrastructure companies came to congratulate constructors and participants of this project.
Realization of the Nycomed`s investment project on construction of state-of the-art production plant is on track. Within 9 months a large amount of building and construction works was done. In present time construction of warehouse complex is finished, works in manufacturing building and installation of façade are practically completed All buildings of the future plant are almost covered with the roof, works in administrative building are continuing.
